Animal themed paintings can be extremely pleasurable to use when decorating. A friend recently purchased a new house and asked that I help her find a few wall hangings. As she is a huge animal lover, we decided that an animal themed room would be nice.

Albeit her existing furnishings could only be called contemporary in style, the air of fun and whimsy added by the animal themed artwork was quite pleasantly surprising. We were initially worried that the two styles would not mesh, however we found that once we found artwork in the correct color schemes and sized the two styles went together surprisingly well.

Another friend was looking to replace a few of his existing artwork pieces as his updated the furnishing in his home. I ran across a fun piece featuring animals and children that I felt would make a nice addition. The painting struck such a chord with him that he decided to purchase a few more pieced by the same artist.

A decorator friend told me of a project she worked on which called for her to find several abstract paintings which gave off an animalistic aura. She was told by her client that she didnt want the more narrowly defined animal themed paintings. Each piece was indeed quite interesting and did give quite a unique animal feel.

On that note, an artist colleague of mine was asked to paint an animal themed mural that was in the style of Cubism. Once completed the client was overjoyed and exclaimed that there was definitely a Georges Braque feel to mural.

Recently a Pet Doctor friend decided to branch out by opening his own office. He used animal themed paintings throughout the entire building, certain that the whimsical wall hangings emanated well being to the pet owners--and that sense of well being was conveyed to the animals he worked with.

I also have a friend whose daughter is enrolled in music classes. The music teacher prominently displays artwork of various and sundry animals playing various and sundry instruments. The teacher believes that these pictures open the children up to their own sense of fun and whimsy thereby allowing their own artistic abilities to burst forth.

Bottom line is I have seen animal themed paintings being used for almost every occasion and personality type. Paintings of any type of animal you can think of and even some of a more abstract nature. Animal themed paintings run the gamut of tastes and do not seem to lessen in appeal for those young or old who happened to be child-like at heart.
