Once you have a working prototype you need to investigate the real cost of production. Where are you going to get it made. Locally, interstate, overseas? How many units are you going to get made? What is cost per unit to you including shipping? A Are you supplying stores yourself or using a distribution company? What is cost per unit to get into stores? B Add A + B =your cost per unit C How much do you want the retail price to be? D What are you going to charge stores per unit to purchase (wholesale price) E Retail markup is D -E = F Your profit per unit is E - C =G
