Prototype Testing
Invention Development Advice - Prototype Testing

Once you have a working prototype you need to test it out.

Get testees to sign a confidential disclosure agreement to protect your idea.

Have it tested by a number of different people who will give you honest feedback.

You need to test your invention to the extremes of possible usage to discover faults, design flaws, material weakness and more.

Now is not the time to be sentimental about your creation.

Critical, analytical thinking is what you need to guarantee the product you put on the market is as flawless as possible.

Take note of any problems your testees have pointed out and then work on ways to improve or eliminate the faults.

This process will be repeated dozens of times before your invention is ready to be mass produced. Take your time.

To keep track of  who has tested, how many times and what their feedback was, it could be useful to keep a file like this.
