Thorough Patent Research
Invention Development Advice - IP Research

In order to protect your idea, a thorough patent research will need to be done. You have a couple of options

1.    You can have a Patent Attorney do the search for you at $'00s per hour

2    You can do a patent search yourself, printing out screen shots of any similar ideas to your invention and take a folder full of these to your patent attorney, saving hours of their time and hundreds of your dollars.

If you are leaning towards option 2, here are a few hints to make your research time more productive.

  • search a range of similar terms. a chair may be described by another inventor as a prosterior support unit. A balloon, may be describeds as latex inflation device.
  • Take screen prints of any similar inventions for your patent atourney to check
  • Check out the inventions listedby your search site as being similar and take screen shots of all of these as well.
  • Keep all your print outs in a folder to give to your patent attorney.
