It seems like children are constantly growing. As time passes, before you know it your little baby is a big boy or big girl. Along with that is the fact that their feet are always stretching out and it seems like they are always in need of new shoes. But, how can a parent buy for cheap all of the shoes that their child needs? Can they be the frugal fashionista that they need to be to keep their children in stylish shoes which are not going to cause their family to go broke? Here's how parents can get the shoes while saving the cash:

Be a frugal fashionista and don't be afraid to ask! Of course you are not the only person that has a bunch of "barely used" kids shoes that your child has outgrown. Parents that you know are experiencing the same thing. Ask the people that you know about those shoes. You may just luck up and get some of those fancy and name brands that you don't want to buy, totally free!

Have a big shoe party! Invite some close family friends over that also have kids or open it up to parents within your community. Set standards for the shoes, such as that they need to be clean, still in good condition, and without holes. Then, let the kids and families come together and swap shoes. This is even better than being able to buy for cheap these same shoes.

Buy for cheap at a thrift or consignment shop! If you don't mind buying things slightly used, then you might just find a virtual shoe treasury by visiting a local consignment or thrift shop. It's one of the cheapest shopping ways. Save money for other stuff by searching out deals at the thrift store. Sometimes, you may find shoes for as cheap as $1 per pair. Not only will you save up to 90% off of the retail price, but sometimes, you may not even end up with the slightly used shoes. Yes, people donate BRAND NEW shoes also!! Another fabulous way to save is to consign your own things. Some consignment shops pay you on the spot and by selling your stuff and getting paid, you could end up with a bunch of stuff for FREE!

Buy shoes after the holidays. Often, stores will have loads and loads of shoes available after Christmas and Easter. Always buy shoes off season. For instance, buy the sandals in the Fall and the boots in the late Winter or early Spring. That's when the shoes are usually discounted up to 75% off.

Need the shoes now? Buy them...but only at stores that have fabulous sales going on. Try to look for deals and coupons in the Sunday local paper and always try to get a "buy one, get one" deal. When they are available, use the "get one" to buy the next size shoe for your kids. You know that their feet will keep growing, so you might as well do your best to be prepared...especially in this economy crisis.
