Pay per Click: To get started in affiliate marketing, it's important to get comfortable with PPC or "Pay per Click" marketing. Advertisers pay Google anywhere from a few cents to around $50.00 for the privilege of displaying on the the right hand side of Google's search results pages. To effectively use PPC, you have to learn keyword research. When you sign up for a Google Adwords account, start exploring their keyword tool, and learn the layout. In particular, learn to pay close attention to the "Global Monthly Search Volume" which Google gives you for every keyword you research. Low volume keywords are just the ticket-- they are the signposts to where you will be able to show your affiliate ads for minimum cost. 2. Start off with the actual affiliate website. Because you are a beginner, you should use the affiliate site given to you by the vendor. There are a couple of reasons for doing this. The guy who created the affiliate scheme in the first place will have taken the trouble to build a good sales page-- after all they want to earn money easily and with minimal hassle, don't they?-- so take advantage of that fact. As a newbie, give yourself a break. Keep to a minimum the number of new tasks to master. 3. Learn to advertise widely and cheaply.
