When it comes to getting the volumes of traffic required to have a successful online business, traditionally we have been left with a small number of choices including PPC (Pay Per Click) and the more traditional forms of SEO (Search Engine Optimization). In recent years however article marketing has really come into its own as the preferred method of driving quality well targeted traffic to your website. With recent advances in the search engine technology any attempts to use so called "black hat" or other dubious techniques have become futile, so now the emphasis is almost entirely on quality content. Blogs and other websites with regularly updated content are what ranks the best on search engines. The best way to take advantage of this new search engine paradigm is through article marketing.
Is it effective and is it easy to implement such an article campaign? Well the answer is Yes, with some guidance and some input of your time. Here are some guidelines to get you started on your way to mastering article marketing. 1. Have a thorough knowledge of your Internet Business It is absolutely necessary that you have a complete understanding of how your industry works and what you wish to achieve with it. Once you understand this you can then implement an effective article marketing campaign and attract the right type of visitors and turn them into clients. 2. Do a thorough keyword research. Speaking of keywords, create a keyword list starting with the most important ones first. This is important because these are the keywords that you would definitely want to use in search engine raking results. For example, if people are looking for "dog medicine" and your business is all about medicines for dogs and other pets, you certainly want your web site to show in the first page results of the search. This will increase the chances of people looking for a dog medicine to click on your site and buy their pet's medicine from you. 3. Write a very well written article. Make sure that you article is highly informative so your readers will not just skim through it but read it from top to bottom. Also, for search engine purposes, make sure that you include the keywords that you researched within your articles. As a rule of thumb, use only one keyword per article. 4. Submit your article to article directories. When you are done with your article, submit it to article directories where other webmasters can find it and use that article on their own web sites. You definitely want this to happen because it will increase the number of links pointing to your own web site. This is achieved through the link that you will be leaving within the article resource box at the end of the article which is a standard among article directories. 5. Lastly, promote your articles. To help your article gain traction or popularity, promote it as rigorously as you can. This is the last thing, but also one of the most important things that you should be doing each time you conduct an article marketing campaign. Simply put, what good is an article if no one is reading it? This can be a bit tedious because of the added effort on your part. You can either do the promotion of the article yourself or you can always hire someone else to do it for you.
