Creating a Lead Capture Page is a great idea for anyone selling goods online. Often referred to as a "squeeze page" they present a cheap and effective way to capture important information about people visiting your site.

Creating the perfect page is not always that simple. Having an eye grabbing headline is essential to any successful page. It needs to grab their attention and make them want to read more. For example have a look at the following headlines; Make Ten Thousand Dollars While You Are Asleep. Or, Lose Weight While You Are Asleep. Both of these examples would get me a little curious and make me want to read more.

Next, you want to let the viewers know who you are and what you are about. Basically, why should they believe anything you have to say or buy anything you have to sell? A popular way to do this is with a personal video feed. This gives them the opportunity to put a face with a name and to see and hear your sincerity. Another option for a lead capture page would be to use a photo and audio recording.

Then you need to offer them a "quick glimpse" into what they can expect if they add their details to your page. Just show them enough to say "I have the answers" but be careful not to offer too much. For example, "what are the secrets that rich people don't want you to know?" Or, "What is the one food that will get rid of fat quickly?" Questions like this will give the reader information without giving them the answer.

The next part is the most important on the page. Creating your "call to action" This is where you gather the information; make it clear what they will get if they add their details to the "opt in" box. Make sure you don't ask for too much information as this can put people off in this day and age.

First name and email is usually enough and will enable you to make contact with the user. Make sure you have a privacy policy clearly visible that shows how you intend to use their information.

It is important to get your capture page right first time. If you are yet to gain the experience in creating a great page when I would recommend using a professional until you are happy with your own work.
