There are plenty that can bring you much success, you just need to know how to properly analyze then once they are found. Choose your passion if you wish, but I wouldn't without some sound research. If I'm going to put in time and effort I want some assurance that it will be beneficial. If you did your research and it looks promising then, by all means go after that passion you have. Not until you have thoroughly done your due diligence. You do want to make your next car payment, Right. If prefer doing research. I like to start by using a keyword tool that Google offers. For instance if you think "train engines" would be a cool topic then I would type in the most general keyword, which would be "trains". Out will come a gigantic list of related Keywords with there corresponding number of searches. Now you have your Keyword list. Look at all your Keyword results and select some that look good to you. We now have to find out if this market has a lot of potential customers. In other words are people Buying. Try going to eBay Pulse and looking for the popular products that are being sold. Look for yours and hopefully it's there. Also see if there are any "Dummy Books" on your topic. Another thing you could try would be Yahoo Answers. People are always looking for answers to something. See if you can find anything on your idea. Do you have a product or a source for a product already? If you do then you could answer questions and, not so obviously, mention your website. If you are selling an affiliate product you might want to disguise your URL. Type in URL disguise or something like this into a search engine and you will see many. Pick one and type in your affiliate link and you will get a masked URL you could use for your posting. A lot of people make good Money doing this. Be Helpful in your answers though. Now you have a good idea people are searching and buying things related to your Keywords. Next you want to know what the competition levels are. Knowing this can make your job of ranking well with the search engines much simpler. There's a tool that you need to get that will give you the edge on the competition.
